i used to sew a lot. a lot more than i do now. and i was a bit of a fabric hoarder. i still have a lot of the hoard, but have let a lot of it go over the last few years. still, there is a ton of stuff that i love so much - i just can't get rid of it. but just having it hang around in piles makes me feel wasteful. so, i'm using it.
we have a pillowcase shortage in our house. and our pillowcases just seem to get worn out and limp. so, i'm making a big old stack of pillowcases. 10, to be exact. i picked my favorite fabrics and i'm getting down to business. i'll let you know how it goes!
it must be the changing season, but i'm totally nesting lately. another little project i just finished is my mail clip board:
i'm in love with this! i saw a cute toy ironing board at the thrift store and it convinced me to take it home (after paying for it, naturally). in one of those rare moments, i had a vision for it. but, despite having the vision, it sat neglected for a couple of months. last week, i got down to business. i screwed some cute plastic clothespins (also from the thrift store) into some of the naturally occurring ironing board holes, removed the legs from the board, put some nails in the wall and hung it up!
i have a friend who lives in Brazil, and she is always sending me the most wonderful postcards (hi, kate!), and now i have a great way to display them.
next up: art. isn't that my job? if so, why isn't there any on this blog lately? the answer to those questions, and many more (that you never thought to ask) inmy next post.
and yes, it's 10:03 p.m., but i still got in my daily post. i rule.
